Just in case you hadn’t noticed, we’re delighted to say we are hooking up with the wonderful and talented curators, Saltmarket this winter to create a series of events, installations and residencies in the lead up to Christmas. We have an even more amazing mix of affordable, high quality, hand-crafted Art, Design and Jewellery for you this year.
This week we have opened a new collection of work at the RBS at 36 St Andrews Square in Edinburgh. The show opened today and runs till the 20th Dec.
Exhibiting artists and makers include Russell Ian Dempster, Jennifer Argo, Euan McWhirter, Good Wives and Warriors, FiST, Shona Guthrie, Fraser Gray, Ruth Hollywood, Leo Blamire and Little Dot Creations.

Special Event at Remarket Glasgow
This Wednesday we are hosting a very special event at Remarket Glasgow from 6-8pm. Gin cocktails of course and then after popping over to Bier Halle for some of their de-lish pizzas.
From 6.30pm we have short, informal talks from some hot Remarket artists; Kirsty Whiten, Jennifer Argo, David Galletly, Suzi Plunkett/ Little Dot Creations, Hannah Grace Ryan and Gabriella Marcella DiTano/ Risotto.
Drop by to see the beautiful installation by BAXENDALE filled with gorgeous art and jewellery, and maybe even grab a last minute Christmas pressie....

Askew- City Centre

Askew was our final artist. He travelled from New Zealand to paint a 6 storey building at the Townhead Campus of the City of Glasgow College at 230 Cathedral Street in the city centre. We partnered with the college for this part of the project, they gave us the site and funding aswell as some very talented students who helped us throughout.
Askew's painting is of a close friend, Leilani Momoisea, a NZ journalist, model and blogger (www.lanisays.com) of Western Samoan, Scottish, Irish and English descent. She is the epitome of what it is to be born and living in current New Zealand, from a generation of migratory NZ ancestry from both the UK and Polynesia. He painted the mural in layers of colour, the last being in white spraypaint. The effect is incredible and the mural very striking.

Best|Ever- Barras- East
Best|Ever were our English reps on In Common, a duo of talented artists recently arrived back from a project in The Gambia. They painted a wall next to Moncur Street in the Barras. Their trip north of the border was fraught with problems but they battled through to create an amazing mural depicting an imposing female made of abstracted colours and photo-real features as a symbol of hope and change for the Barras and the East of Glasgow.

Elph- Maryhill- North
We were delighted to select Elph as our Scottish representative for our In Common project. We've worked with him for many years and rate him very highly. He painted a distinctive, colourful piece at 1148 Maryhill Road. He visited the area and worked with children at East Park School. He incorporated many of their ideas, suggestions from local residents and Maryhill buildings and landmarks into his playful mural.

Faith 47- Ibrox- South
Faith47 from South Africa painted a beautifully subtle piece for our In Common
project in Ibrox. She worked through the sun and the rain to create an intriguing portrait of a powerful woman. A string is tangled in her fingers and a wrought iron feature guards her. A sentence runs along the wall that says, "THAT ONE CAN GIVE WHAT ONE DOES NOT POSSES, OH THE MIRACLE OF EMPTY HANDS".

Daily Record- Tin Forest
Great piece on the National Theatre of Scotland's Tin Forest project in the Daily Record. We even get a wee mention for the part we played.
Tin Forest at the Rotunda
We worked on the National Theatre of Scotland's Tin Forest project earlier this year and they invited us to paint the venue, the South Rotunda! This week we went to their beautiful adaption of the Tin Forest book, a puppet labyrinth in the rotunda, all a clever allegory for Glasgow's past and future. It's defo not just for kids, is only £5/ £3 and takes 30mins. Like nothing I've seen before. On our hunt for walls for In Common we found a pub in The Barras with a textural surface only one man should or could paint! Of course that dude is our talented FiST. He's already there injecting some fluro into the street! Massive thank you to BAaD for supporting us and helping us get access to sites.

Our East End site has fallen through for our In Common project. Big let down! We are now looking for a mural site anywhere in Glasgow with these rough specifications-
One owner, preferably private, as it is easier to get permission.
Wall size minimum 10m X 6m (either orientation), the larger the better!
Portrait orientation is preferable if possible ie the taller the better.

In Common- Glasgow 2014
Introducing 'In Common', our mural project commissioned by Glasgow 2014 for Festival 2014, the cultural celebration during the Commonwealth Games here in Glasgow this summer.
We have invited 5 world renowned artists from Commonwealth countries to visit Glasgow and paint large scale murals in 5 different areas of Glasgow; North, East, South, West and City Centre. Such an exciting line up, we're really delighted!
The murals will be painted over the coming weeks. Visit the sites to see the murals being painted and follow the project to see the map of them once complete.

Brothers of the Stripe (BOTS) are a collection of illustrators, graphic designers and image makers from all corners of the UK. With many major cities represented, we are able to support each other in presenting our collective works to the various regions. The collective also offers us a soundboard through which to gain brotherly support, collaborative projects and a shoulder to cry inky tears.
The BOTS are made of all an all male team of movers and shakers, all picked for their devotion to their style and craft. An important factor to the dynamic of the team is not only our ability but our philosophies and commitment to the cause, our support for each others and our willingness to play outside our comfort zones.

We're halfway through...... 6 murals have sprung up across Dumfries and Galloway. We couldn't be happier. The project has been featured on the BBC, ITV, in the Times, the Skinny, the Herald and the Scotsman aswell as Farmers Weekly!
Our artists have now all gone back to their 'normal' lives after a week of meeting each other, creating exciting concepts and painting in the sunshine.

A couple of weeks ago we travelled to Dumfries and Galloway for a whirl wind weekend of workshops, site visits and an artist's meet up. It was so exciting; lovely people, beautiful place, inspiring ideas! Colin Tenant made this wee film that captures the artist's meet up at Annie Peel's barn but you can also read and see more photos on the Spring Fling Blog that follow the whole weekend. Bring on painting the murals!

Mirror Lands is a film and sound installation exploring diverse relationships to place on The Black Isle in the Highlands of Scotland.
The work weaves together sonic elements of the natural world with an original score. Contrasting local voices intermingle, rise and fall, sharing their personal memories, feelings and perceptions of place.
Preconceived ideas of Highland life are challenged and the complex interactions between nature and culture are brought to the fore in this unique audio-visual experience.
