Character Show




On 22nd Januray we open our first exhibition at Recoat of 2010. The theme is 'modern character design'. Got a group of amazing artists participating. roll on the new year!!

Advanced Mechanics


We close at 6pm on Wednesday, and we then reopen on the 22nd January 2010. But we're opening a new show from duo, Elph and Lyken in Edinburgh at Pageant on the 15th January 2010 as our first show of the new year. The exhibition is a follow up to their Haunted Graffiti show they did with us just a few months ago. Plans are coming together for computer game, music, rocket and of course, lots of new artwork. London trip






Visited the big smoke this week, visited friends, ate amazing food, biked the crazy streets, visted the Pop Art show at the Tate, went to see the amazing 'Where the Wild Things Are', caught Sickboy's one night only exhibition, popped into the Colette X Nissan Cube launch on Bricklane and went to stupid amount of bike shops. What alot of fun.

Rudi Zygadlo featured on Radio 1

Cookie launches officially!


We've been doing some work with a new Restaurant that has opened on the South Side called Cookie. It does amazing food, they also have a deli with first press olive oil and their own wines cheese and cold meats, and a little homeware design shop perfect for Christmas pressie buying. We have hung an exhibition of Gregor Louden's work from our last show there. Plus they also have a beautiful window drawing from our pal Conzo and he did all their design work so lots of quality illustrations kicking about. They are doing a couple of launch events this weekend, all welcome. 3 till 5.30 on Sat and Sun, Sat is mulled wine, bubbly and nibbles, Sun is mince pies! 72 Nithsdale road, Glasgow, G41 2AN.

Koyaanisqatsi with live musical accompaniment by Urban Farm Hand


Our Brother out law, Benofficial, is in the mighty Urban Farm Hand. They are performing the live soundtrack to Godfrey Reggio's film, Koyaanisqatsi thats being shown at the GFT next Monday.

Edinburgh Urban Outfitters- Kirsty Whiten Solo Show




They are opening a brand new massive Urban Outfitters store in Edinburgh. It launches this Friday from 2pm. They asked us to curate a show for their opening, so we asked one of our favourite artists, Kirsty Whiten to do a solo show of her collection of Giclee prints and a couple of select originals. The photos are a wee peak at us hanging everything today. We've decorated the store (and the changing rooms!) with her gorgeous work.

We were invited to go draw at the Scottish Secret Wars selection event last Friday. Ali aka REKOR got selected, delighted! The team is Elph, Conzo, Estum, Vues and Smug, congrats guys.

Annual Christmas Bargain Blowout Exhibition

This Friday we are opening 'Recession Session', a bargain bustin' show with over 30 artists from all over the globe. Each wall is going to be marked with a set price and all artwork will be set at that one low price. The categories will be- £25, £50, £75, and £100.

As ever at Recoat the emphasis is on high quality artwork that is well finished. The show will be exciting, a collection of work from Scottish and international artists of original pieces including sculptures, paintings and drawings, and limited edition prints.

Lost and Found Structures opens tonight!




Gregor has been very busy, tonight we open his first solo exhibition at Recoat. we're showing 35 original drawings plus two screen prints (which you can get at discounted price when you buy the book), and we're launching his first book, which is a collection of these drawings. Not only that, he has painted us a big mural over the past couple of days. Its a great show, and it opens tonight, 7-10pm. Its sponsored by the Lansdowne and supported by Red Bull so plenty of drinks to get the evening off to a good start. You'll also get the chance to win a signed copy of the book.

If you can't make it don't panic, it runs till the 13th November or if you can't make it at all, all pieces not sold tonight will be in our online shop on Saturday here.
