Ruins opens tonight!

Al White's solo show opens tonight 7-10pm. For the last fortnight he has been busily working in Recoat as his studio creating a series of intricate collages and beautiful pencil drawings. He's created a cohesive, impressive show. Can't wait for you all to see it. If you can't make tonight you should deffinately come down before the 8th July when it closes.

"Ruins" from Al White

“Ruins” is Edinburgh based artist Al White's first solo exhibition, a series of drawings and collages exploring the dissolving structures and systems of half-formed utopias. The cracks in this parallel world are revealed through corrupted architectural grids and reassembled fragments of debris, creating a series of interlocking non-linear narratives.
Al White  is currently based in his hometown of Edinburgh, he graduated from Dundee's Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in 2011. He has since exhibited in several group exhibitions and was featured in Wallpaper Magazine's 2011 graduate directory. His work revolves around an imagined post-industrial world which has been steadily mutating and decaying since he first presented it in his degree show installation; a screen printed wooden structure housing a hypnotic video piece.
The show opens on 22nd June 7-10pm. After the launch it runs till the 8th July. You can see some of White's work here.

Al White installed for Residency

Al White is installed in the gallery now and will be there for the next 2 weeks creating more beautiful drawings and paintings for his show "Ruins" that opens on 22nd June. You can pitch up to see him working, but gallery will be operating "Al hours" so don't be disappointed if there's no one there if you drop by over the next fortnight....
