On the 22nd of Jan 2010, 7-10pm we open New Faces, a group show that includes a varied selection of artists, established names like the London based, prolific and well known illustrator Andrew Rae and Scottish graffiti artist Elph alongside new Glasgow School of Art graduate, Conzo and newly emerging graphic artist FiST. Also showing is Michigan based artist, Jon Macnair and South African painter, Theory One, both showing in the UK for the first time. Last but not least is the female street artist, Syrkus.
Character Design has become a genre in its own right within illustration, graphic and street art over the last decade. We've chosen a collection of artists that we feel represent different areas within this genre and highlight the importance and validity of this new area of design and development.
It runs till the 21st of February open 12-6pm Tuesday to Sunday.

Advanced Mechanics, the follow up to Haunted Graffiti from Elph and Lyken, opens next Friday 15th Jan, 7-10pm at Pageant 10 Laurieston Street, Edinburgh, EH3 9DJ. It runs till the 13th February.
Lyken's abstract work seeks to illustrate a phosphorescent subatomic universe of molecular motors, protein pistons & chemical energy. Elph draws from a love of comic books and manga/anime, creating a hectic mash up of machinery and spaceships. For this show he will be following a female astronaut and her adventures in the dark reaches of the galaxy, otaku style.
The pair will execute a large-scale mural in the gallery space which will serve as a backdrop to this new work. There will also be a limited edition tshirts available for sale on the opening night & a give away disc featuring a specially commissioned music track & platform game.
See you there!
